| Annual Player of the Year Function |
The St. Modan's Community Sports Clubhouse was packed to the rafters recently as the club held their end of the season awards ceremony. Michael Easton (Gizzy) won the Top Goalscorer award, view here. Player's Player of the Year and also Player of the Year went to James Addison (Addy) view here. Addy and David Henderson are two of the longest-serving players at the club, and both still only 26!!! This emphasies the fact that we have a very young squad. View the combined mugshot here. Addy has had an outstanding season and was well worthy of both awards. Gizzy, in his first season at the club, has worked hard and again, was well worthy of his award. |

| Another success story for the Under-15s - we won the cup! |
On Tuesday night (9 June 2009) the Under-15s were at Ochilview, Stenhousemuir to play in the CIS Saftey Cup Final. Our opponents, JBM, pipped us for the league title so revenge was on our minds!! JBM are a big strong side, and it was that which beat us when we were up against them in the league. After the first half we were 3-0 down! Looked like a repeat performance of the league fixture was on the cards. But after half-time the boys came out fighting and showed fantastic spirit and character. We equalised with only 8 minutes to go and then scored the winner with two minutes to spare!!!! Roy the Rovers eat your heart out.Milton U-15's lifted the trophy and our supporters enjoyed every minute. A FANTASTIC END TO A FANTASTIC SEASON FOR THE BOYS!!! |
| Benny Connolly stands down |
Benny Connolly recently announced that he was standing down as team coach. The club would like to thank Benny for all his efforts over the past six years. Benny helped us to promotion in successive seasons, from the Second Division (which we won undefeated) to the Premier League. His commitment was second to none; not only did he train the players on Tuesdays, Thursdays and on match days, he would regularly cut the grass, line the pitch and help out with other things when work and shifts allowed. Benny has intimated that he would like to stay with the club in another capacity, which we welcome with open arms. |
| New coaching staff |
The Milton committee acted swiftly on Benny's announcement and have installed Scott Kinross and Mark Spalding as the men in charge of the Caledonian team, and they are well aware of the expectations of such a massive club. They understand the 'Cally team' are the top of the tree at a club with which boasts seven 11-a side teams, Soccer 7s, Fun 4s and a thriving soccer academy. This makes us, without any doubt, the biggest amateur club in the Central Belt Scott and Mark have outlined their plan to the committee, and one of their main objectives is to provide a 'conveyor belt' of players from the youth development. Further information on what Scott and Mark have planned for the coming season will follow shortly. |
